Florida’s children deserve more than crowded classrooms and underpaid teachers. For too long, public schools have been forced to do more with less - and students are the ones paying the price.
The answer is simple: invest in every child’s future. That means competitive salaries for educators, up-to-date learning materials, smaller class sizes, and safe, well-maintained buildings. And yes, accountability for all schools - public or private - that receive taxpayer funds.
Vouchers should serve families who need them most, not those seeking luxury education with public dollars. And any school that benefits from public money must meet the same standards - including support for students with disabilities and transparent admissions practices.
Educators need more than applause. They need the resources to focus on what they do best - teaching. That includes professional development, mental health support, and classrooms stocked with the tools students need to succeed.
Investing in education isn’t charity. It’s economic development. It’s crime prevention. It’s preparing the next generation to solve problems we haven’t even imagined. Strong schools make strong communities.
We have a choice: keep patching the leaks, or fix the foundation. The future of Florida depends on whether we choose quick fixes or real commitment. Public education deserves more than lip service. It deserves action.
